			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>All employers need to be aware that the Federal Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008  (GINA) took effect on Saturday, November 23, 2009. There is an EEOC web page addressing this issue available <a href="http://www.eeoc.gov/laws/types/genetic.cfm" target="_blank">here</a>. A copy of the proposed regulations are available <a href="http://edocket.access.gpo.gov/2009/E9-4221.htm" target="_blank">here</a> and a copy of the GINA statue is available <a href="http://www.eeoc.gov/laws/statutes/gina.cfm" target="_blank">here</a>.</p>
<p>Employers are now required to either (1) replace the previous workplace poster with the new one available <a href="http://www.eeoc.gov/employers/upload/eeoc_self_print_poster.pdf" target="_blank">here</a>, or (2) or use the GINA Supplement to the existing workplace poster available <a href="http://www.eeoc.gov/employers/upload/eeoc_gina_supplement.pdf" target="_blank">here</a>.</p>
<p>GINA makes substantial changes to the laws governing employee discrimination. The <a href="http://ohioemploymentlaw.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Ohio Employer&#8217;s Law blog </a>recently wrote a <a href="http://ohioemploymentlaw.blogspot.com/2009/11/gina-takes-effect-next-monday-november.html" target="_blank">post </a>describing some aspects of GINA.</p>
